Receiving Clerk

J&C Tropicals, a well-established and growing national tropical produce distributor is looking for a Receiving Clerk who is responsible for receiving Produce and non produce material. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the quality and proper staging of inventory on the coolers,  receiving of merchandise, cooler temperature and cleaning. Also part of the activities of the inventory count program, including investigating of inventory discrepancies when related to his area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following: (Others duties may be assigned)

  • Receive al merchandise (produce and non-produce) along with documentation upon arrival from carrier (BOL, inspections, temp recorders, etc)
  • Verify and inspect carrier equipment (reefer on container, temp recorders, damages, etc)
  • Inspect all the produce received and reports to the Receiving Lead any quality/quantity problems.
  • Perform daily cooler inspection, verify proper produce staging, verify all produce presents proper identification (tags).  Print and replace as necessary.
  • Ensures proper warehousing/housekeeping practices and space utilization as well as the accuracy and security of the on hand inventory

  • GED or high school diploma
  • Forklift Driver License


  • 3-5 years of experience. Knowledge of receiving, warehouse, produce operations, and quality control practices in a produce environment
  • Any equivalent combination or experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
