Golden Berries

Golden Berries have a unique tropical flavor that taste like a mixture of pineapple, strawberry and sour cherries. They are bright, orange-colored fruits that are closely related to the tomatillo. Like tomatillos, they are wrapped in a papery husk called a calyx that must be removed before eating. This delicious super fruit is high in vitamins and antioxidants as well as fiber, vitamins, minerals and beneficial plant compounds that may boost your immune system, eyesight and bones.

Their unique and flavorful sweet taste are great for jams, sauces, desserts and more.

Names: Goldenberries, Cape gooseberry, Inca berry, Poha berry, husk cherry.

Source: Ecuador

Handling:  To eat, remove husk first. Eat them raw as a snack, or add them to fruit salads, or use for  smoothies, jams, sauces, or desserts.
